About Sarah
Sarah is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT), NDIS approved provider and qualified music educator who has vast musical experiences.
Sarah has obtained a Masters of Music Therapy as well as a Masters of Special Education which followed a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education.
Sarah has been working in music education with students with a range of needs as a music therapist and educator. This experience includes working in schools that cater for students with behaviour and emotional issues, schools for students with moderate to severe intellectual and physical disabilities and in mainstream settings. Sarah runs her own private music therapy sessions throughout the Central Coast. In addition to working for the Department of Education and her own private practice, Sarah has provided private music tuition on a variety of instruments.
Individual and group music therapy sessions have been provided through government funding for clients e.g. Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) and Department of Families, Community Services & Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA). Sarah is a NDIS approved provider. She has developed programs that meet both therapeutic and BOSTES education outcomes. Sarah uses innovative approaches that have been planned and implemented to engage and inspire students.
Sarah’s experience with providing music therapy includes:

- children in palliative care
- aged care facilities
- music through technology
- educational experience with behaviour and special needs
Sarah is an accomplished musician as well as a music therapist and educator. She enjoys performing with her local symphony orchestra, Symphony Central Coast . Sarah has also performed in a number of musical theatre shows with Gosford Musical Society. Additionally, Sarah has played as an individual, within duets and a variety of chamber ensembles. She has played for charity and community events, weddings and enjoys informal music opportunities.
About Ebony
Ebony is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT)
Ebony graduated with a Master of Creative Music Therapy from Western Sydney University in 2020. She also completed a Bachelor of Music degree in 2018 at the University of Newcastle.
Ebony has been working as a music therapist in the Newcastle area since the start of 2021, now working as an RMT in both Newcastle and the Central Coast. She enjoys working with all clients, but is particularly passionate about working with young adults to help manage their mental health and to provide a safe, inclusive space to promote self-expression.
About Liz
Liz is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT)
Liz is a lifelong musician who has been working with children and adults with and without disabilities for 20 years, sharing the joy of music and helping people reach their goals. She has recently completed her formal training as a Registered Music Therapist. Liz works with people of all ages and all abilities and has expertise working with neurodivergent people and people living with dementia.
About Pete
Pete is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT)
Pete has been gravitating to Music Therapy ever since he started his Bachelor of music which was about ten years ago. He likes the thought of using music in a way that will benefit the client, having all those special moments when the client and therapist “Click”. Those moments of understanding each other are extraordinary and unique feelings. That is why he wanted to be a Music Therapist.
About Kayoko
Kayoko Minglis is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT)
Kayoko had a career as a preschool teacher in both Australia and Japan., In 2003, Kayoko began studying for a graduate diploma in Music Therapy. In 2005, she became a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) with the Australian Music Therapy Association.
After she became a RMT, she began teaching in special needs schools and aged care centres. From 2008-2013, Kayoko worked at the UTS Music Therapy Clinic. Clients who attended the clinic ranged from young children to young adults and had a range of disabilities.
In 2014, Kayoko moved from Sydney to the Central Coast. She works with clients here on the Central Coast and in Sydney.

Music therapy goals
There are a range of music therapy techniques and interventions that are used during music therapy sessions. There are planned components but there are also activities that can be used in the moment dependent upon reaction, feelings and willingness of the participant(s).
